Invalid File Names in Archive

When attempting to extract a wpress file containing an upload file with an invalid file name the extractor fails and returns without completing, can the extractor be extended to simply ignore gracefully and continue the extract? The source wpress file was provided to me and I don't have much information regarding the specifics of the invalid file(s).

I'm running wpress-extractor.exe on a Windows 10 machine.

I can provide a link to the *.wpress file if necessary.

I'd be happy to learn Go, update, and submit a pull request but at the moment I don't know how involved such a "fix" would be. This admittedly might not be relevant to most users.

Hello!

I'm having a similar problem as the above, except;

It aborts with the error of: The system cannot find the path specified.

It's possible it's a file-length issue, as the file it stops on is rather long.

Could you please advise a possible solution?

Hi, Can i know why you are needing to extract the wpress flie originally? Are you unable to import it to the website that you need it to be? Please explain i hope i can help you out in getting the file uploaded and the backup reloaded for you.

The file size is large (24GB) hence the original import function is getting stuck at 15-20% everytime I try to import. Can you help with that ?

How are you able to import the backup then? as the all in one allows only to have 500MB of file upload. Are you changing the size from the php file of the plugin?

No. I am changing it using .htaccess file.

first try using the unlimited tool. Also can i know if you are making the backup from the original website directly like going to export and making a backup. if you can do one thing i think it should surely work.

1 - Disable all the plugins in the original website before backup except ALL IN ONE 2 - Change the theme to the default wordpress ( 2019 ) 3 - Create a backup then > Export i mean 4 - Once the backup is done download it.

Note: Make sure you have deleted the previous backup 24GB File so that does not add up.

Next step is for the other place where you are uploading the file. 1 - If you have FTP or cPanel Access upload the file directly from the backend like going to the file manager or FTP. ( it will be same place for both )

wp-content/ai1wp-backup/

upload that file .wpress over there and then from wordpress backend go to teh plugin options Backups.

You should see the file to be restored over there. Restore it from there and it will directly take you to the extraction process. As you will already be able to skip the uploading process through that plugin.

One last thing to mention is that make sure you have double the space as the backup is of 24GB so make sure you have around 50GB space. As uploading and then extrracting the same data makes it come near to that place.
