How about we start a DAO?

Open voltff opened this issue 1 year ago • 9 comments

Hey ALL, have you thought about setting up a DAO for our open-source project? It could be super cool!

With a DAO, we can make decisions in a way that's fair and open to everyone. Members get to vote on important stuff, so it's not all top-down like a traditional company.

Plus, having a clear structure for governance would save us a lot of headaches down the road. We could attract more people to join in and invest, which would be awesome.

It's also a great way to get the community involved and give them a sense of ownership over the project. And because we don't have to wait around for one person to make all the decisions, we can move faster and get things done more efficiently.

And let's not forget about security! With a DAO, we can reduce the risk of fraud and keep everything safe and secure. So what do you think? Shall we give it a go?

In the interest of the project's long-term evolution, I believe establishing effective organization and management through a DAO is crucial. However, it's important to note that DAO management is a specialized task, very distinct from code development. If we decide to implement a DAO, I suggest we have dedicated individuals who can devote time to learning about this domain and carry out its management. Without this, it may be more beneficial to not proceed with this at all.

It seems that DAO have lots of benefits. My question is what disadvantage or risk will DAO brings to OpenDAN?

I'm not familiar with DAO, but after some research and learning, I am very interested in this form and willing to give it a try.

I have participated in several DAO events and while I haven't directly initiated one, I highly appreciate this transparent and open voting approach for governance, which can attract more talented engineers. Of course, there are many issues and challenges associated with this, but I have a strong interest in this field. I believe that AI and DAO have a natural compatibility.

I am very interested in the concept of DAO, but I would like to know more details. What kind of blockchain technology will we use to implement this DAO? How will voting rights be handled?

Hi Max,Do you have any guidance on setting up a DAO and suggestions for DAO rules if you have been involved in some DAO organizations?

This is a meticulous task, and I can give it a try.
