system("/system/bin/sh") Exit code 127 after root

The root process seems to be working (I see "root" in the process USER field) but the "system("/system/bin/sh")" return 127 as exit code.

The device: samsung S4 mini with a cyanogenmod 12.1 (5.1.1). The kernel version: 3.4.0 getprop output: http://pastebin.com/xuupS3c1
