GPS loses signal very often during Hike
i know the device is made for flying - and this is the mainreason i ordered! for me the skydrop is a really great development and i want to support to get it to the best device these days.
Now my question: during flying you have no objects disturbing the satellite connection - GPS logging should be fine. but you dedicate the device is made for Hike&Fly. And during hike you have not so good connection "to the sky" because of trees or other obstacles. because weather conditions are to bad to fly, i tried it yesterday during an hiking session: i recordnize, that the gps status got lost several times and so the gps log is discontinued very often. i am not sure if this is an hardware or software issue. what is your opinion on that issue?
Hi, thank you for your feedback.
Please attach (as zip filtre) the tracklog. If you are planning another hike session please enable debug->debug log and debug->debug gps.
I will investigate the reason and report back to you. On Apr 26, 2016 12:09 PM, "rrunner911" [email protected] wrote:

hi back again for testing i did a simple walking/hike near my hometown. attached is the igc and log file. i view the igc file on google earth. my opinion is, that the track is really inaccurate. the track goes zick zack and "jumpes" around. also the signal got lost several times.
here is the file: Archive.zip
thanks for feedback
I will look at this issue, where was the device located during the hike?
In my backpack, in the upper pocket. Only the thin nylon is between skydrop and air.
