FTP upload of flight logs (feature request)

Now that the device can download updates etc from the web via wifi, it might be nice if it could also upload the other way. Would it be possible to upload flight track logs from the device to a private FTP server? This would allow all activities to be available online without having to connect a cable manually after each flight. It would also allow easier transfer into Google Earth, sharing for competition purposes, or providing evidence for airspace infringments/complaints etc. Free FTP server websites are available, I wouldn't expect Skybean to do the FTP server hosting.

I've no idea how technically challenging this would be, but I'll suggest it anyway.

Here is my personal view on this. However, @fhorinek is owner, so he must decide.

I know, that skybean is thinking about a general upload functionality of IGC to various servers (e.g. leonardo). This will probably be done first. As these are HTTP based, I asume, that FTP is very far down the list of priorities.

However, there is already a beta functionality in place on the device. If you turn on Wifi and check the IP address of strato (Settings>Wifi), then you can open a browser on your desktop and enter the IP address of strato as the URL. You will then see a list of files in the log and the ability to download them.

BUT, this functionality is BETA quality (in fact, I personally would call it ALPHA). So sometimes it works, and sometimes not. In any case, be patient, as the browsing is very slow.

Maybe this helps as a workaround, until UPLOAD is available.

Thanks for the quick reply. If that becomes a reliable feature then I am happy with that. In fact, its probably better than FTP upload. I just want to avoid cables. Partly as they are a bit of a pain generally. But more so as I find the USB connectivity on the strato to be really unreliable.
