fw 236 unstabile Bluetooth

Open georghg opened this issue 3 years ago • 10 comments

Unfortunatly in the new fw the bluetooth Connection with iOS became unstable again.

Strato creates a new connection code every two seconds without stopping. The behavior is stopped when you enter the menu (even without connecting or doing anything in the menu). Then it is connected to the IPhone (in my case Flyskyhy). However, if you close the app and reopen it (or in fact only minimize it for a while) the procedure starts again. So in order to set up the bluetooth connection again you again need to open the menu of the device.

The problem is not related to the GNSS forwarding bug. GNSS forwarding is turned of.

I will post a video below to show the issue.

Anybody else having the same issue?

Downgraded to fw 232 again and here the bluetooth connection with Flyskyhy is stable again.

Although I was excited to see that 236 had the maps feature, it also frustrates me a lot that while new features are added existing ones stop working properly. I would really prefer if you would wait with the release of new features or fw versions until the fw is stable again. I am using the “release” channel, so my expectation would be that a new version is released once it works stable and not before.

Kind regards Georg

@georghg so far I cannot reproduce the situation You were experiencing. But I will try. I have to admit that iOS/Flyskyhy BT connection is not as stable as Android/XCtrack (does not mean that Strato is not "guilty" for that).

By all means 236 is not the "release" channel fw. It is a devel channel update. Only when You set the channel to devel. It is also published in the fw directory so You can manually download.

@georghg seems that iphone and strato are in some kind of race.

Are You able to upgrade again and attach debug log? https://github.com/fhorinek/BB/blob/master/Dev/Logging.md

Ok, that was my fault to upgrade to 236 then. But how do I see it is a developer version? On https://strato.skybean.eu/fw/ you do not make any comments what version it is. Since the update over the device did not work (which then obviously was due to the fact, that I was in „release“ mode) I just downloaded it and installed it (not knowing it was “developer”). Didn’t see any comment there that this was a developer version. Would be useful to put a comment on that site. Anyway.

I tried to create the debug log as requested. Therefore, switched to developer mode, Upgraded to 236, opened Flyskyhy. Same procedure as on the video. This time it even crashed. See foto. I will send you the debug file in a private message. Let me know if the file is useful. If not, I can try to replicate it again and send the file again. 2E167EC4-BDAF-4257-B254-37DB1CA6618D

please try development fw 242, the new communication system provide more stable communication. This will prevent esp from rebooting.

Connection seems stable again with 242.

Went flying today with 242. unfortunately the vario now doesn‘t make a single beep or sink tone. In a 20 min flight there was absolutely no vario tone.

In order to make sure it is not the automatic flight Start that doesn‘t work I changed the setting during flight so that audio is always on. Since that didn‘t change anything, I restarted strato but again with no effect. See my setting below. B36ABCA5-B174-4124-8F36-3AFF1BD9B28E 55948AFE-B336-4EE6-950B-62DC7750DFCE

After a few restarts the vario tone is on again.
