FW232 - 'Not connected' for Update

Open IoannesCarolus opened this issue 3 years ago • 11 comments

After boot/start I'm connected to my WiFi network. I also switched the Firmware channel to 'Devel'. When i check for updates, the wheel spins some time and terminates with the message "Error - Not connected". Happens 2m away as well as when I'm 5cm close to my router.

In the past other firmware versions worked well with my WiFi network.

What to do? Any way to delete my WiFi network in Strato and set it up again?

I had the same error. For me it worked when I:

  • switched firmware channel to devel
  • turned off strato
  • turned it on again
  • connected to my Wifi
  • checked for update -> downloading and updating worked flawlessly

@fhorinek is the firmware channel only updated when booting?

switching fw channel should not affect wifi in any way, I will check it

No the change is immediate, actually the update url is assembled just before the check for updates

you can manually update to https://strato.skybean.eu/update/devel/fw/D0000234.fw but there are no changes in wifi

@IoannesCarolus can you try it again with debug to file option enabled in development menu? I would like to see the log from the attempt

@fhorinek In which submenu of which main section is the debug-to-file feature located?

you need to enable developer menu, go to device info and select 6 times serial number, this way you enable development menu where you can find debug to file

maybe I was able to reproduce this specific issue - maybe it's an additional one...

my procedure to reproduce it:

  1. turn on Strato
  2. checking for updates when WiFi isn't connected yet (not connected error as expected)
  3. connecting WiFi
  4. checking for updates when WiFi is connected still leads to "not connected" error

If I turn on Strato, wait for WiFi to be connected and check for updates after there's no error coming up

Thank you I will try i tomorrow

@fliescher's replication complies to my Strato's behaviour. Below is the log while trying to access the firmware update and receiving "not connected".

Log is deposited here: https://pastebin.com/Hp10wy5E

@IoannesCarolus @fliescher please try to reproduce it with using 236 fw version (devel channel). For final test You should propably wait until next version after 236.

Since manual update of fw236 it was working well for around 1 OTA fw update (fw237 to 238) . Now this behaviour reappeared again when trying to update.

So now I'm back with fw246 manually updated, and when trying to search for an update with established WiFi connection, the Strato terminates with the message "Error - Not connected".

I have the same issue here. FW R.279.23.5, Bootloader 30. Hardly I managed to update strato manually. Wifi is working as tests with AP-Mode show, but there is no way to check for updates.
