Strato and FlySkyHy

Open Altgenug1 opened this issue 3 years ago • 13 comments

So far I have been using the SkyDrop together with FlySkyHy. Now I would like to do the same with my Strato and my iPhone with FlySkyHy. I can connect the iPhone (12) to the Strato via Bluetooth, but then the Strato is only used as an external speaker. In my opinion it is more important that the flight datas are sent to the iPhone/FlySkyHy. Because then you can use the Strato much better, even without finished software.

Unfortunately, I have to inform you that the connection between the Strato and the iPhone 12 only worked twice in approx. 35 attempts. But the two times it worked, it seemed to work fine.

UPDATE: I have found that if I first switch the connection to the Strato to ignore in the BT setting on the iPhone 12, then the coupling in the FlySkyHy works. This behavior is reproducible with my devices.

what you mean by this?

switch the connection to the Strato to ignore in the BT setting

On the iPhone you open settings -> bluetooth -> then you see all your BT-connections and you have two lines with "Strato_xxxxxxxxxx" (if you have also activated A2DP Audio) -> you press the "i" in the line behind of line "Strato_xxxxxxxxxx" NOT responsible for the Audio and than you have to press "Ignore this item" in the submenue. After this the line "Strato_xxxxxxxxxx" is not longer visable in the list. Now you can connect the Strato at the app FlySkyHy. If you turn of the app or switch of the phone, you have to do it again to connect FlySkyHy and the Strato. (My phone is in german, so I don`t know of all of the translations of the iPhonemenue are correct)

PS.: Sorry for my english.

For the FlySkyHy and iPhone you should try Strato_xxxxxxxxx LE as only low energy Bluetooth telemetry is avalible for the application. The one without LE is for audio and classic SPP telemetry

I'm sorry, I don't take your advice. ?? I am NOT connecting any BT manually. The element is automatically displayed when I connect in FlySkyHy. It is also always shown as offline and it cannot be activated. But you have to delete it before you can connect the Strato to the app again.

By the way: if you switch on the audio BT and see both BT connections, they do NOT differ in terms of their names. There is no STRATO_xxxxxx LE in the display. Both are indicated as STRATO_xxxxxx.

Hi,

I see the same behaviour. If you have paired Strato with the phone first (in the iPhone settings), it will not pair within the FlySkyHy app. The solution is to unpair the app from the Phone before pairing it within the app.

I will contact the developer of flyskyhy to find out more

Do you also send the Flarm/Fanet+ information by BT to FlySkyHy so you can see the your friends on the map of FlySkyHy?
