Crashes Every Game

Open 1Poseidon3 opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

I have yet to get this working but I am excited to try it because for some reason all of my VR games perform below expectations. However, I have tried it in 3 different games now all using completely different game engines and all of them have crashed on load. I have confirmed it was VRPerfKit by removing VRPerfKit and attempting to run the games again and they work. The games I have tried were

  • Beat Saber (Unity)
  • Pavlov VR (Unreal)
  • BONEWORKS (Proprietary?)

It does generate a log file but looking through the log file from VRPerfKit and the game itself seems to yield nothing of use (no helpful errors, warnings, etc.).

Boneworks is Unity. Both Beat Saber and Boneworks work for me, and I have heard positive reports about Pavlov. You will have to provide more information: what headset are you using and how are you using it? (e.g. for Quest, are you using (Air-)Link or VD? Are you running the game through SteamVR or native Oculus?) What are your hardware specs?

Where did you put vrperfkit for each game? Please post your config file and any log files that were generated by vrperfkit.

I am using an original HTC Vive with Index controllers and Basestation 1.0s with SteamVR and a hardwire. My specs are as follows:

  • OS: Windows 11 Professional
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
  • Memory: 64 GB 3200 MHz

VRPerfKit is in

  • \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Beat Saber (for Beat Saber)
  • \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\PavlovVR\Pavlov\Binaries\Win64 (for Pavlov VR)
  • \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\BONEWORKS\BONEWORKS (for BONEWORKS)

I have attached the three log files (one for each game) below. I renamed them to make it easier to know which one belongs to which game. vrperfkitBeatSaber.log vrperfkitPavlovVR.log vrperfkitBONEWORKS.log

Thanks for your quick reply! I look forward to hopefully having this working soon.

Have you been able to figure anything out based on the logs? I still haven't been able to get it to work in any game.
