Ring overlays visible : Elite Dangerous
The ring overlays are visible when the mod is activated/enabled. I would anticipate this effect to "see" where the rings are to size appropriately; however, the rings are visible at all times and creates what would be best described as a flashlight effect. things rings are varying shades of gray.
This is noted while play Elite Dangerous: Odyssey using the normal upscaling mode.
This happens if the game is not compatible with the mod. I'm afraid you'll encounter quite a few of these games for now. But please always put the game in the issue title because this is game-specific :)
You can try disabling certain graphical settings. Possible culprits are anti-aliasing (especially temporal anti-aliasing) and other post-processing effects.
I'll try a few settings; however, for the most part I can see it working but with this current side effect.
The "side effect" means it's not working, I'm afraid. It means that the image reconstruction is broken for that game, and it remains to be seen if it can be fixed.
Got it. Thanks. Keep up the good work!
I tried v0.2 with Elite Dangerous: Odyssey and "Variable Rate Shading". There were no visible rings like above, but I couldn't tell whether the effects were working properly.
Changing anti-aliasing worked for me in Radial Density Masking mode with no mesh pattern or rings as far as I could tell. But I saw no difference in performance even though my outer ring was set aggressively.
I saw no difference in resolution at all with Variable Rate Shading with any anti-aliasing option set.
I think I tried Horizons as well with the same results as above.
This is unsurprising. I didn't expect Elite to be compatible.
