Newbie question re using Laker 'book' folder
Hi, Laker and Baker seem to be just what we need to make an ipad magazine version, so thanks for the software.
Unfortunately I am having an issue right at the start!
When I download Baker and run it in Xcode, it works and I get a choice of Sherlock Holmes or Tutorials.
When I add Laker nothing changes.
The instructions say
Replace the "book" folder of your Baker directory with that from the Laker Starter Pack and you're good to go.
However my Baker directory has only a books folder (plural).
If I add Laker to this then the Xcode project works exactly as before - giving a choice of Sherlock Holmes or Tutorials. If I rename it to book (singular) then I get an error.
Having got apps on the Apple app store before I realise this is the start of a long path, but I would be grateful if you would point me in the right direction.
Where do I put Laker so as to see it in the Xcode/ipad simulator?
Thanks, Jonathan
Hey Jonathan,
there were some changes made to Baker regarding multiple issues per app. Laker is not yet customized for this.
But it shouldn't be very difficult to solve. Just incorporate the HTML-Files of Laker into an example book of baker and adjust the book.json (if its still called that way).
cheers florian

I am having the same issue. I have removed the default baker book in the books folder and and replaced it with the laker book so now /books/book can be found. I recompile an it still shows the old baker book. Not sure what to do in this case. Please advise.
Might be a caching issue. Quit Xcode and the simulator, then look for your Derived Data folder, something like /Users/you/Library/Developer/DerivedData then inside /DerivedData delete any folder you see there, reopen Xcode and recompile.

Didn't work for me, it always appears this when launching app
Help please

Same here. I replaced the Book folder with Laker. Then deleted the folders in Derived Data plus cleared the product and Simulator caches and I still see the default book.
I'm sure it's something simple. Any thoughts?
OK, I figured it out. In my case it was user error. Just follow the Baker instructions for a Standalone install. https://github.com/Simbul/baker/wiki/Tutorial-for-Standalone-App
Once that's done switch out the book folder.
when i change to standalone, whats happen when i want use as in the newsstand???
hey there, please ask that question in the baker forums, because its a baker related topic. ;) Thanks
