the CI is setup by there are no releases.

It would make uptake alot easier if there were tagged releases of the binary and not just the source code.

It there any technical reason this is not done ?

well, you can download .wasm binary right from the packge repository eg: npm, jsdelivr cdn, etc.. https://www.jsdelivr.com/package/npm/@ffmpeg/core
