I'm going to close this as it is years old and V2.6 is long out of support (we are now supporting V5.x and working V6).

Closing this as yes, libntirpc is a replacement for libtirpc, but is not intended to be API compatible.

Oops, I must have had a bad version of authgss_prot.c in my repo when I submitted the patch. That clearly has nothing to do with adding xdr_putbufs to xdrmem... Please...
