xattr support has been added to CEPH, it still could be done for VFS if someone wanted to pick that up

Please confirm if V4.0.4 (or V4.0.6) fixes this issue for you. Also, the recovery backends are not usable with NFSv3 (NLM recovery database is managed by rpc.statd).
