Ferdium Version

6.0.0

What Operating System are you using?

Windows

Operating System Version

Window 10 21H2

What arch are you using?

x64

Last Known Working Ferdium version

6.0.0

Expected Behavior

Usually, when making a Call (audio or video), a pop-up window appears and we perform the call smoothly.

Actual Behavior

When I click on the Call (audio or video) Button, nothing happens. When someone is calling me, a pop-up appears notifying me who's. But when I click on the Video Button to answer, the pop-up just disappears. A "dropped call" is registered to the recipient calling me. Then from the chat window, a blank message bubble from the recipient is seen.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to Messenger window.
  2. Click on the Call button (Phone icon for audio call, or, video icon for video call).

Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon here. Exactly the same problem. Sorry to say but in Franz, it works.

Try to change your WebRTC settings here:

Thank you, I tried to change this as shown (Expose user public and local IPS), restarted the computer, tried again but it did not solve the problem. Actually, when clicking on camera icon in Franz, it opens another window and starts the call. In Ferdium, it does not even open the window, just nothing. Does not work both flatpak and deb installation (tried just now). In my internet browser (Edge), the Messenger video and phone calls work without any problem (also opens additional window).

Confirming that it is not the WebRTC setting, such as Discord calls encounter, but rather that Ferdium doesn't open a window for the call. Facebook will launch a new window for and video or voice call, and Ferdium just doesn't seem to have this capability.

I have this problem too. I was also trying the latest versions of flatpak and deb installation. The result was the same. Unable to receive or initiate either a voice or video call. Ferdium doesn't open a window for the call. I tried all the WebRTC settings with restarting the computer after each change. The result was the same. Unable to receive or initiate either a voice or video call. I hope some solution comes along soon. Ferdium doesn't open a window for the call.

I'm getting this as well and it's a pain. Would love to see this addressed.

I tried using version 7.0.0, again 18 months after the first attempt. No change, video calls still don't work.

Yup, it can't open another window, which is required for doing voice or video calls.
