Problem Description
To install Ferdium on Ubuntu Linux now we have only two ways:
- Manually download the
.debfile and install it, and periodically manually check for updates and repeat this ritual. - Use
snap, but it adds a lot of interlayers, that negatively affect performance.
So both ways are not perfect.
Proposed Solution
Will be good to provide a PPA repository for Ubuntu to automate installing and updating the Ferdium version via the default package repository in any Linux from the Ubuntu family.
Here https://help.launchpad.net/Packaging/SourceBuilds/GettingStarted is manual how to build auto-updated PPA via Launchpad recipe.
Alternatives Considered
Another way could be to add Ferdium to the official Ubuntu repositories, to have it available in any Ubuntu out of the box.

Good idea, always preffer ppa instead flatpaks or snaps.
A third-party/custom APT repo could also be set up for Debian-/Ubuntu-based distros, like Signal or Brave Browser have done.
