Expected Behavior

I use google chat as a service. When you open the google chat tab, the cursor initially shows in the Message... entry box and then moves to another focus area.

It would be great for the cursor to stay with its focus on the last chat window you had opened, enabling you to start typing your message straight away.

Actual Behavior

Cursor is focus on another part of the window.

Steps to reproduce

  1. open google chat
  2. focus on message entry box by clicking into it
  3. change to email or another service
  4. go back to google chat, focus has moved

I too have this problem. current workaround is to use Cmd+S to start a new thread, then Esc and finally R to reply to the last thread.

Is this still a problem nowadays?

Hi ! Yes it seems so (using Ferdium 6.7.1). When switching from another service to Google Chat, the text box is focused for like 0.5-1s then unfocus. Same when you switch of conversdation while staying in Google Chat. It looks like it's loading something and as soon as it finishes focus is lost. If you do the same thing in your browser on chat.google.com the focus stays correctly.
