Additional information
I've done nothing different to the app than any other morning, it just stopped working out of a sudden.
Well, this was fixed by just deleting the entire ferdium %appdata% folder. I even tried deleting the preferences but creating a new service made it break again. Before I completely reset it, it started showing me this:
I have the same problem mentioned in the original post on Linux. The button for using Ferdium without an account does not react to anything.
There is at least one other issue about this problem, which is caused by the Ferdium server not being 100% reliably online.
I was just bitten by that and had to wait a few minutes before my services would load after waking up my machine (I always quit Ferdium before suspending).
IMHO the only solution here is to make Ferdium use the sync/profile/whatever info it has cached locally as a fallback, IOW do what browsers do. Imagine you'd start Chrome or FF and it would just tell you that, "sorry, the browser sync server is offline so you I can't do anything for you".
Upload any changes to the server, check periodically if there are changes to fetch from the server, but otherwise just use the local profile data.
Well, today it happened again. I'd like to know where exactly an offline account needs to load user information from.
Fantastic, this time not even deleting %appdata% makes it work. It just keeps complaining about "can't connect to no online services" even on a fresh profile.
Using 7.1 btw.
I am using windows 11. Suddenly, I am getting this error.
API servers are down https://github.com/ferdium/ferdium-status
isn't there any way to load the services even if the servers are down?
If the servers go down while using ferdium then everything still works fine but you see that red banner until the servers are back online
But if you close and re-open ferdium while the servers are down then you are stuck in the get started screen

I'm sure I've already suggested that it should be possible (if not trivial) to have local caching of the profile data, and use that information at startup too.
The banner is annoying but at least it warns you not to quit or reload the application while it's there...

This is again very relevant ...

Especially since clearly the online status indicator (https://ferdium.github.io/ferdium-status) is not that reliable. Currently all indicators are green, but it's been impossible for hours (since the last actual downtime) to log in because the API server is overloaded and Ferdium must be hitting a timeout each time it tries to log in.
