geditpycompletion for Gedit 3

Will there be a version of this plugin for Gedit 3?

Oddly enough, it works for me on gedit 3.18.3 on Ubuntu 16.04. I just moved the files to: ~/.gnome2/gedit/plugins/ and it showed up in Plugins tab in Preferences.
