Strange crashes when opening settings.

Open ameeno opened this issue 4 years ago • 13 comments

Hello,

I have tried to reset the application, and it does seem to have reset, However, whenever I open the settings from the menu, it crashes the entire application.

My WIndows log says:

Faulting application name: FluentTerminal.App.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5ec8e1c2 Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.19041.292, time stamp: 0x84cd251b Exception code: 0x00001007 Fault offset: 0x000000000010b37c Faulting process ID: 0x16d0 Faulting application start time: 0x01d653e69c67c7bc Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\53621FSApps.FluentTerminal_0.7.1.0_x64__87x1pks76srcp\FluentTerminal.App.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\System32\KERNELBASE.dll Report ID: 00049041-f5cb-408a-a882-d9fa155d1236 Faulting package full name: 53621FSApps.FluentTerminal_0.7.1.0_x64__87x1pks76srcp Faulting package-relative application ID: App

I am using windows 10 Pro 2004 version with Hyper-V enabled, Windows hypervisor framework, Virtual machine platform and windows subsystem for Linux enabled.

Started to crash after enabling the Windows Hypervisor framework. (Which I wanted to accelerate the Android Emulator on an AMD ryzen CPU)

Anything I can do to fix it?

*** EDIT ***

Rebooted with Windows Hypervisor framework disabled, and the error still persists, therefore is unrelated.

Also wanted to add I am using the latest Fluent terminal version 0.7.1.0 - which Is installed from MS Store.

I have tried to reset the app, remove and reinstall, sideload via chocolatey, and others, but same issue persists.

*** END EDIT ***

Next to the event you pasted should be another one (type information iirc) which contains an actual .NET stack trace. Can you share this as well?

please see attached image. Not sure which information .NET you mean as I cannot see it.

Can you enabled debug logging?

felixse avatar Jul 13 '20 18:07 felixse

I have done this, no additional .net information to report.

There should be something in %LocalAppData%\Packages\53621FSApps.FluentTerminal_87x1pks76srcp\LocalCache\Logs\

Nothing suspicious there as well. Does this also happen if you open the settings via keybinding or CLI (flute settings)?

If it doesn't contain any sensitive data you can send me the settings export. Maybe some value causes the problems.

Hello Felixse,

I have tested and same happenings with flute settings and with the keybinding.

Here is my config.json attached. config.json.txt

@felixse any idea's what is causing this?

ameeno avatar Jul 23 '20 09:07 ameeno

Didn't find anything so far. There will be an update in the Store pretty soon. Maybe we are lucky and this will sort it out

felixse avatar Jul 23 '20 19:07 felixse

Any updates on this issue? I'm experiencing the same problem. Even after uninstalling the app and then installing it again from the store, the app still crashes when I try to open the settings. This only seems to be happening on my desktop; the settings open just fine on my laptop.
