VSCode PHP Intellisense Go to Definition (F12) slow

Mac 10.13.3 VSCode 1.21.1 (1.21.1) PHP Intellisense 2.3.0

When using the Go to Definition function it can take up to a 3-5 seconds, sometimes more. This is nearly instantaneous in Sublime Text 3, and I often choose to just search for the function name, for example, because that's quicker.
