Crash on mobile sites

Open snoogans235 opened this issue 9 years ago • 11 comments

I have implemented baguette box on a one of our sites http://www.lbar.com, and it works for some of the smaller profiles, but when we start to use more pictures baguette box will crash on mobile devices. An example to look at is http://www.lbar.com/property/2001-Winchester-Road-Paris-KY-40361_1519425.html. I have tried lowering the preloader to 0, but I am still crashing.

Another example is http://www.lbar.com/property/2374-Walnut-Grove-Lane-Lexington-KY-40509_1502572.html t looks like safari can't handle the memory load all at once.

Thanks for reporting that. I'll look into it soon. Could you just provide more info about the issue? On which mobile devices? Which OS, browser? How the crash looks like?

Sure thing. It works fine on android, but will crash on iOS in both safari and chrome. In chrome the browser completely crashes, and in safari it to reloads the page with the error "A problem occured with this webpage so it was reloaded."

I have an issue on iOS as well. There is no crash, to the page or browser. The plugin displays the gallery overlay, but the images don't ever load. The spinner is all I can see. Currently I have about 15 galleries on a single page. If I cut that number dramatically (to 2 or 3) everything works as it should.

N.B. works fine on Android/Desktop - only iOS is the problem

Hi, sorry I neglected this issue, but I wasn't able to reproduce the crash, as I don't have access to any iOS device. One of the possible solutions (at least for @snoogans235) would be removing image nodes while the user moves far enough from them. This could reduce memory consumption.

As for @dmcaodha problem, I'm not quite sure. Can you perform remote debugging and see whether the console outputs any errors?

@snoogans235 does this issue still happen with the latest release?

we had to remove it from our site, so I am not sure.

Ok, then I'm closing the issue as not reproducible.

It is perfectly reproducible see there (this is not spam)

Ok, I'll look into that.
