I too would love to see this feature. It seems as though @iverberk is busy in real life and hasn't had much time to work on this project.
I'm currently working on WSL2 and jus set my Windows' hosts files manually for each domain I intend on using. Windows PowerToys has a nice Hosts Editor GUI tool.

Just setting "Monitor Technology" to "Fixed Refresh" solve all the performance issues for me. Thanks!
