Window resizes drastically when resolution changes

This is a big annoyance when using VDS. If the resolution of the machine changes (usually due to resizing the VDS windows), the GT window will often drop to the top-left 1/4 of the desktop. I'm assuming this is probably an interaction between the resolution change and the scaling factor (this is a High DPI monitor).
