POCO M3
Have anyone tried with a POCO M3?
I bought this hub but it doesn't support charging and data simultaneously. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001694740332.html
I am not sure if it is a ROM issue or Hub issue, would be great if anyone could share their experience with POCO M3. So that I can buy a new Hub if it is a Hub issue.
I have tried 3 hubs/splitters and none charge and pass through OTG data at the same time on my Poco F3 or ZUK Z2Plus. Almost certain it's a hub/cable issue as I've tried this on different roms.

Thank you for your feedback. If you are 100% sure it's a hub issue then I will try another hub.
Care to share those 3 hubs/splitters that you have tried? So that I wouldn't buy the same.
Update: tested with ONEPLUS 3T and discovered the same issue.
they are just unbranded ebay buys. I haven't heard of anybody that has a working usbC hub/cable that charges and does data. I have a micro usb hub that works on micro usb but a usbC one eludes me.
@stevvie I guess USB-C protocols doesn't support this kind of usage. I read it some where while I did a google search. Can't find the link anymore. Something to do with host mode etc
Hi, Thanks for trying octo4a! Unfortunately some phones just don't support charging and using OTG at the same time :/ This is a known problem, and unfortunately it is near-impossible to solve on many phones.
We maintain a crowd-sourced compatibility list of phones which work with octo4a: The list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pbKAELzvTrMVm6NpDpK8TfQR33w3QHQEgqkcGdbPFI0/edit?usp=sharing Feel free to submit your phone here: https://forms.gle/UFzJebj67hCtLCBz7
Sometimes it is possible to bypass this problem by trying these solutions:
-
Using wireless charging. If your phone supports it, it might be possible to use a wireless charger and use the OTG feature at the same time. Some users have resorted to gluing a wireless charger to a phone case
-
Hard-wiring the battery. WARNING: CONNECTING A RANDOM POWER-SUPPLY STRAIGHT TO THE BATTERY MIGHT RESULT IN A FIRE OR EXPLOSION, EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION Some people modify their phone to charge their battery externally, bypassing the phone's battery charging circuitry altogether. Some event removed the battery (the safest option)
-
Compiling a non-standard kernel. On some models the charging-and-OTG functionality is blocked in software, and this can be bypassed by using a non-stock kernel. Please be advised that compiling an Android kernel requires some skill and a lot of time.
