New view mode

As of Omni Notes version 6.2.2 (I suppose it is the same in versions 6.2.3 and 6.2.4 which haven't yet been released on F-Droid) there are 2 types of view for notes:

  • Expanded view
  • Reduced view

I use the latter but I would prefer an even leaner view:

  • Condensed view

which shows only the note's title (and perhaps the note's timestamp).

A visualisation of what I mean by Condensed view (only notes' titles shown in notes' list) as implemented in another note app:

If Condensed view (or Dense view, or Title view, etc, only notes' titles shown) is implemented it would be particularly useful for categories with many notes as it would reduce scrolling by half. Actually I do not need to see the first line of a note as my notes are well-organized by categories and tags. I think it would be more useful if tags are shown below note's title in stead of note's first line.

I am glad that the development of Omni Notes has been resumed, thanks.

Hi there,

thanks for the feedback!

I'd really like to avoid overwhelming the main app's view with too many options, so this could eventually be an alternative to current Reduced view, to be choosed from inside settings. Exactly how that works right now color category colors.

The other side of the coin would be that also other informations about notes like reminder, geolocation, attachments would be lost with your proposal. Moreover showing notes' size would not be appliable to keep performances high avoiding more intrusive permissions.

@federicoiosue Thank you for your quick response! I suppose that I understand your design philosophy for Omni Notes to keep it as simple and light as possible. For me any implementation for showing only notes' titles in notes' list would be fine, so an option in settings would be more than enough. For my use of Omni Notes there won't be any loss of information as I almost entirely use your app for plain text notes without attachments, geolocation and reminders.

Regards

#913 I believe I have successfully added this feature if it fits the scope of how @federicoiosue wished for this issue to be solved
