Timestamp Attachment Date/Time Format

Open gsauthof opened this issue 6 years ago • 4 comments

Being able to attach a timestamp to notes is quite useful.

Currently, I can't see any way to configure the date/time format of the inserted timestamp. On my Nexxus 5x/Android 8.1 (US system language) device it's MM/DD/YY HH:MI which is arguably suboptimal.

Thus, it would be great to have a configuration setting for the date/time format of timestamp attachments.

Either fully flexible by entering a date/time format-string or by offering some common choices. Personally, I only care about the ISO format, i.e. YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI.

Sure. I also want to open an issue for this.

We really need ability to customize the timestamp. Additional 'day' information will be nice. e.g 'Monday + DATETIME' So we don't need to check what day for that date.

Thanks for listening Omni-notes users :)

<>I would also prefer the ISO format, YYYY-MM-dd HH-mm. Configurable would be better, for those who prefer another version. That would also let me use a shorter version (but same order).

FWIW, nowadays I'm using Markor (free and open source) on Android which inserts YYYY-MM-DD style timestamps out-of-the box in todo lists.

With markdown files it supports inserting timestamps using configurable formats including yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm.

This is a perfectly acceptable request. The next release 6.2.0 will probabily not contain it because the focus is currently on bringing a stable experience with the heavy under-the-hood upgrade that has been implemented recently.

But I'm going to keep this also for contributors because it's not that much related with core workflow and due to this easier to implement.
