Some widgets (for example the "number" widget) support a direct "size" configuration which is mapped to the db column name "size_x". But, the CI widget doesn't support that for now.

You could try to set the size_x field directly to a different value, but it might be that the HTML/CSS of this particular widget is not flexible enough to automatically make use of it.
