It would be cool if we could add the ability to add tags to entries, so that future analysis script could more easily group them without having to break the look of the bestiary. The tags don't necessarily have to be reflected on the webpage.

Could we maybe use the way entries are currently stored? E.g., adding a tags = {} field in each bibtex entry - it would be ignored by the parser, and I could write a short script to retrieve comma-separated "tags" for grouping purposes. Or do you have something more sophisticated in mind?

I'm not very familiar with the bibtex format, so I didn't know that unknown fields are ignored.

I was afraid that adding new fields would cause problems with bibtex parsing libraries. If we can use new fields, all the better.
