This version won't work either
Hello, sorry, but this new version won't work either: I get only error reports like

The site is www.peter-kreinberg.de (watch for JoomGallery and 2.000 + pictures) !
Best regards, Boy Herre
Please check if the Joomla 2.5 package is download and decompress correctly. Check if you are disabled the download a decompress from jupgrade settings.
Hello, I checked everything, but nothing works. Joomla 2.5 is obviously NOT downloaded (skipped?).
Installation starts, and I get thousands of errors like these:
[install_config]
Warning: require_once(/mnt/web7/52/83/51352183/htdocs/jupgrade/libraries/joomla/methods.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /mnt/web7/52/83/51352183/htdocs/administrator/components/com_jupgrade/includes/install_config.php on line 27 Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '/mnt/web7/52/83/51352183/htdocs/jupgrade/libraries/joomla/methods.php' (include_path='.:/opt/RZphp5/includes') in /mnt/web7/52/83/51352183/htdocs/administrator/components/com_jupgrade/includes/install_config.php on line 27

etc.
Then I cancel migration.
Preferences: All skips = NO All core skips = NO.
This concerns the URL www.peter-kreinberg.de (Joomla 1.5) .
Strange enough: On URL www.wrws.de the Migration worked perfectly (!).

No, this does not seem to work (!). Though preferences are OK, all "Skips" = NO
Check if you have disabled the download a decompress from jupgrade settings.
What exactly do you mean? All Skips = NO

After you save all skips to NO, you must to reload the page (F5) and the run the migration.... do you see the download progress bar working? Do you have the ROOT/tmp/joomla25.zip pacakge on your site www?
This things are not code issues, please check the wiki: http://wiki.redcomponent.com/index.php?title=jUpgrade:Table_of_Contents
Hi, thank you for taking care!
Now,
Mootools 1.2.5 OK
checking & cleaning hangs.
Skip check
Downloading Joomla 2.5
Error: Zipfile was not sucessfully downloaded.
So, I will download manually, into manually created folder "jupgrade".
Downloaded Zip-File manually, put into folder jupgrade
Skip Download
Unpacking: Error: zip file not found
Unpacked locally, manually, copied to folder jupgrade.
New try to migrate, evoking jupgrade.
Again: Error.
Then I switched from Default to MySQLli.
Tried again. Migration starts. It works - so far. Now hangs in "Copying images/media files..." (There are ca. 2.500 images in JoomGallery (!). Does this mean something? Shall I stop here? How will this be continued? Must I migrate JoomGallery with an extra JoomGallery-Migration?
Best regards, I appreciate your assistance!
Boy

Luckily, the migration was - so far - successful! Thank you! I simply had to switch to MySQLli, that did it (!).
Now I must (only) re-install some third-party modules and correct, after I imported the right version (for Joomla 2.5) of the template, the correct locations (right, left etc.) of the modules; the page is finished in more than two thirds. I am only worried about migration of JoomGallery and 2.500 pictures (!); but taht is going to be solved, I hope!
Any hints how to proceed?
Best regards!
Boy

It turns out that the download is done once after installation of jupgrade, but when the download file is removed, the thing never gets downloaded again.
Also there seems to be an issue with migrating banners, so you may be ablet to save yourself a few hours of pain by skipping banners.
What worked for me
- download joomla 2.5.x from joomla.org
- manually unzip it into {root}/jupgrade/
- tell jupgrade to skip download and unpack
- skip banners
... and all was well.
I've had the same problem. I think this error occurs when you use php-fpm and set the max_execution_time or display_errors from php-fpm pool config. I've disabled the 'disable set time limit' and 'disable error reporting' in the parameters, then reloaded the jupgrade page and it got fixed.
