Does this repo support image optimizer API? Thanks!

Hi @chenrui333

There is no API support for Image Optimizer at this time.

In the future, there will likely be an API for 'enabling' Image Optimizer (but I do not have an ETA on that I'm afraid).

Out of interest, what sort of API are you hoping to see, e.g. what endpoints would it provide (outside of enabling the feature itself)?

Thanks.

Anything that is configurable through the admin panel:

Our use case is simply to Terraform the IO settings to ensure consistency across environments, and have proper change tracking management.

Thanks @laurentgoudet for clarifying the expectations. I'm raising this internally with the relevant team.

Any news on this topic?

Hi @SkyRexDev

So there are plans to expose API support for Image Optimizer, but it's currently blocked by some internal work.

I unfortunately can't give an ETA on when that work will be complete but it is being actively worked on so 🤞🏻 it will be sooner rather than later.

Any update folks?

👋🏻 @marceloboeira

I've just checked internally, and I can see we have (as of 24hrs ago!) an internal RFC API design proposal submitted for developing this API endpoint.

So, although this is unfortunately still ongoing (and has been for a while), it is still a good sign because it means the relevant team(s) have unblocked themselves and are now able to make progress towards the actual development.

I'm sorry that I don't have any more information at this time to give you.

@Integralist thanks for your quick reply!

it's great to know things are at least moving forward. We want to experiment with it but we can't afford manually configuring thousands of services/routes when we go live across the board, if there is any +1 for feature endorsement count us in hehe

No problem. Thanks for your patience!
