Particular location in the book makes Kindle Reader hang

I'm not sure if this is the right place to report it, but I'll try.

I've bought the Kindle e-book and was trying to read it with Kindle Reader for Android. At a very particular location in Chapter 1, Kindle Reader hangs and needs to be killed and restarted. Trying to skip well ahead of that location (to future chapters) also causes it to hang. Basically, the whole book beyond that point is inaccessible.

The particular location is in Chapter 1 (Intro), subheading “Jargon Recap”. The words “…provides a handy vocabulary” are the last thing that gets rendered. It seems like trying to render the table that follows these words breaks Kindle Reader.

I'm not sure if there's anything wrong with the table. Google Colab also has trouble rendering it as a table, showing raw Markdown instead. I'm new to Jupyter Notebooks, so I'm not sure if the Markdown is broken or how to fix it.

I tried contacting Kindle customer support, which ran me through loops of “please uninstall and reinstall the application, please reboot the device etc” and finished by offering me a refund for the book. I was trying to get the support person to file a ticket for their engineers to look at, and they said they would, but I have no idea if they actually did. If there actually is a problem with the book that causes Kindle Reader to hang, chances of them successfully identifying the problem and relaying it to you (the authors) are even slimmer. So I'm hoping that you might just look at it and see what it might be that breaks Kindle Reader, and release an update to the Kindle platform (whatever that process is).

I've requested a refund of the currently unreadable e-book, but I love the reader experience, and will happily re-purchase the book if the issue gets fixed. For now, I'm reading the free content from this GitHub repo in Google Colab. Thank you so much for the amazing book so far!
