Does Marvel VS Capcom fighting collection contain actual arcade files or just ports?
I was hoping to get it, but wanted to make sure it was possible, I don't want to get it if the games are just straight up ports.
The games are emulated, but there's no method to extract playable ROMs of The Punisher or Marvel vs. Capcom 2 yet. There's a pull request for Game Extraction Toolbox that should extract the CPS2 games included in the collection, but it hasn't been implemented yet.
besides that are the other games extractable?

Yes, the tool would be able to extract everything from Children of the Atom to the first Marvel vs. Capcom if that pull request were implemented.

It's been implemented with the newest version of the tool: https://github.com/shawngmc/game-extraction-toolbox/
The extracted ROMs are compatible with MAME 0.139.
