If you could edit without "import", this would be a great text editor.

Currently to use Notepad as a text editor is pretty cumbersome. You have to:

1. Import the file you want to edit
2. Edit it
3. Export the file
4. Delete the note

If there was a menu entry that acted like "Import" but without saving the file as a note, one could edit files conveniently. Say the button would be called "Load". The you would:

1. Load the file you want to edit
2. Edit it
3. Export the file

It would be even more convenient if there was a menu entry that exports with the loaded name. That entry could be called "save". Then we would have the typical text editor terminology. Load, edit, save.
