[bug] in version 3.0.4

Open aharakadabra opened this issue 1 year ago • 7 comments

If there are several lines of text and i want to copy/paste some other lines somewhere into it or edit a word/letter, often the "cursor" is jumping to a another place or delet and replace a complety other word(s) in the Text.

I second this. Specifically, the underlying issue is with autocorrect (the word gets underlined for autocorrect, but autocorrect cannot be dismissed)

I'm using the Android AOSP Keyboard, if that matters.

Assume I were to enter "The quick brown fox" If I typo "fox" as "foz", autocorrect fixes it. But it doesn't dismiss "autocorrect selection" and the word "fox" remains underlined, which causes any subsequently-entered word to replace "fox". Tapping an empty space doesn't dismiss autocorrect either. Tapping another previously-entered word (say, "quick") causes subsequent inputs to replace the previously-entered word.

It's an unholy mess.

3.0.4 is unusable for me too, but my issue is a bit different: I just write a short sentence of say 5 or 6 words, then when I delete the last one, the space separating the previous 2 words is deleted and the words are merged. If I also delete that one, the previous words are merged too, and so on...

Same as @eleius

I like this app a lot, but this makes it almost unusable for me. I'd be willing to sponsor a couple hours worth of work to fix this sooner than later.

For now I moved to https://github.com/maltaisn/another-notes-app where I can type

Note that changing the Android keyboard affects this issue.

I was having the same problems as reported by @eleius with the default AOSP keyboard but when I changed to using Florisboard, which is a much better keyboard anyway, those issues went away so I can now type normally.

There's still an issue there, like described by @aharakadabra, but overall it's much more usable than with the default AOSP keyboard.
