MIDI messages (program select, CCs, etc) passthrough.
I used to convert old MODs and XMs on Windows by using 2MIDI by Un4seen. Now I used Linux quite a lot and I haven't been doing that in a long while. I know that ALSA-MIDI's timing is bad, and recently I found JackAss as an alternative :) But here's the problem, it doesn't passthrough MIDI signals as they are. This can be annoying because of program and CC changes in MIDI files produced by 2MIDI. If you output all of those MIDI signals to JackAss, it doesn't output program and CC changes, instead you'll have to control them using the values in the plugin.
I hooked JackAss's output to FluidSynth (with the SF2 with samples needed) As a conclusion, it sounds like ~~$H!T~~ someone smashes the keyboard to the beat: please rename from log to mp3 as github doesn't support mp3 upload
With ALSA-MIDI (the timing is good because i am using an RT kernel but it's still not perfect): do the same as above
Are you able to make a MIDI file that played with a daw has this problem? Or a project in a linux host maybe. I need to replicate the issue in order to fix it.
I don't really understand what you said (sorry, English isn't my native language) I don't use any native Linux DAWs 2MIDI makes MIDI files out of MODs. The DAW (FL Studio) doesn't have any problems playing the MIDI file, however JackAss completely ignores CCs and program changes that FL sends from this MIDI (I set Input port to 0 in Fruity Wrapper's settings tab). Here's the SF2 and MIDI if you wanna test this out eurobeat.zip
