How to capture one one Alsa device and playback on another?

Thanks for making this incredible software. I'm not an artist and I use Carla for some spatial audio processing. Can I achieve this on Alsa, or maybe I have to use some other drivers?

Carla does not support this. Easiest way to achieve this is using pipewire as the sound server and carla running in jack multi-client engine mode.

What about if I want to achieve this by accessing different alsa loopback subdevices. But carla doesn't seem to support subdevice selection, nor it can read asoundrc where I define virtual device myself. I just want to intercept my music playback doing some dsp then send it to playback device. Alsa loopback has so many spare channels to do this, but is supported in exclusive mode only so I have to use subdevices.
