Motivation
During today's core maintainer meeting (October 5, 2023), the topic of how to balance longer-term priorities with urgent feature tasks was brought up for discussion.

Candidate tasks:
- LSM hooks to address file opens (symlinked files and a replacement to the current TOCTOU approach) should be either LSM hooks or current syscall logging, not both
- DNS re-work
- anomaly detection framework
- ...
