Cannot switch from extended to surround profile

Open jaystocky opened this issue 6 years ago • 7 comments

Ok So I've seen this issue before, but not as far as i can see in the way its happening to me. When i create the profile for surround, the software doesn't detect that the resolution is formed by a surround profile. This is irritating because i cant use the software to actually move between the two and still have to go through the irritating process of enabling surround, alligning my 3 monitors correctly and bezel correction also...

Please follow these steps:

  1. Download the HeliosDisplayManagement.Reporting.zip file.
  2. Extract it to the desktop. (or somewhere with write access for your user account; so it can save the log files next to it)
  3. Execute the program and wait for it to end, then press Enter to exit.
  4. This will generate a log file right next to the program, rename this newly created log file from "HeliosDisplayManagement.Reporting.XXXXX.log" to a meaningful name, for example: "DisabledSurround.log" or "AllMonitorsExtended.log" so I know what the log is about.
  5. Switch to other modes (using the Windows Control Panel and NVidia Control Panel) and repeat these steps.

At the end of this process, you should have multiple ".log" files each generated while your system was in a specific correct mode. I need this information as I need to follow the program's logic based on your system while you are in a specific mode. Send these log files to me. Feel free to check the log files for any information you might not want to share with the public.

Also, the source code of this program is available as a part of this repository, so you can always check the source code or even compile it yourself.

Hey there, I'm not the original bug reporter, but I have a similar situation.

I'm running three monitors and two cards (NVLink/SLI). I've attached the logs from each configuration.

Thanks for everything!

SLI mode - Two Active Displays.log Surround mode - Two Cards, Three Displays.log Extended mode - Two Cards, Three Displays.log

BTW, I'm able to switch to a Surround configuration, but when I go to switch back, it says my monitor configuration has changed and won't let me change back to all-extended.

@TheRealMisterFix Thanks for providing the log file. It will probably take me a while to take a look at this since I am quite busy as of now and therefore I apologize to you and other users of this program in advance for this. But, your log files will sure help me a lot to find a solution to this issue.
