Makes xscreensaver freeze

Since I installed sct, I get problems with xscreensaver. When the screensaver is on, about 1/3 to 1/4 of the times when I move the mouse nothing happen. I see the mouse cursor moving, but can't type my password and/or go back to where I was. I have to reboot the computer. That's a shame because I really like sct and redshift is not working correctly as well. Is there any way I can resolve this issue?

If so, do you think any specific pattern causes this? It could be a bug in xscreensaver or an X11 API (that sct uses).
