fix: replace abandoned packages
Hello, we're using this package in one of our project and came around this issue with abandoned packages, it's forcing us to add indirect dependency to our project. I noticed somebody has already tried to fix this issue in https://github.com/facile-it/php-openid-client/pull/37 but seems like unresolved change requests are blocking the release, hope this could help.
thanks!
EDIT: looks like I can't really finish this either 😅
Anything I can do to help this one along? Abandoned packages in our project are making people feel antsy.
@cooperaj I think in order to finish this, we need https://github.com/facile-it/php-jose-verifier v0.5 to be completed..
Looks like there's new beta release on https://github.com/facile-it/php-jose-verifier
Any updates on this? I would love to see this get merged in and a new version released so we can stop using the abandoned packages.

Looks like the beta release of the upstream has been around a while but isn't tagged. Would be nice to see that done so this library can then be tested against it. Project people now moving beyond antsy.
Hi, I will not be pursuing this any further, imo it can't be done without the maintainer taking part or finishing the related package versions. I haven't inspected what changed in the past year so maybe it is possible feel free to takeover or open up a new issue to push the maintainer to resolve this.
I'm sorry but the upstream IS tagged and released since long ago: https://github.com/facile-it/php-jose-verifier/releases/tag/0.5.0-beta1
If you can complete this PR, we can push together and tag stable release there and here too.
