calculate the shortest path between any two points in 3d space

Hi, I am using Replica dataset in habitat sim for my project. I am wondering whether it is possible to calculate the shortest distance of a traversable path connecting any two points in the 3d space. I understand that navmesh-based pathfinder is designed for 2D cases, where a robot is assumed to be moving at a constant altitude?
