Can you explain the cause of the leak a bit more? Its not clear how this PR fixes a memory leak.

Before this PR, the variable value still keeps data in memory when create_cb() fails and cache_->Release() is called.

value is a void* and not a unique_ptr, so setting it to nullptr will not free anything. Also, create_cb is basically the lambda in GetCreateCallback, which always returns Status::OK(). So how is the error path even triggered?
