@xevz: Everything seems to work ok, except rendering.

I guess it something small and stupid, will try to figure this one out myself and report the patch here.

What software/hardware do you use? It works on both my machines running Debian Wheezy and sid (both 64 bit).

Homebuilt workstation (Wheezy): Intel Core i5 4670K AMD Radeon HD5770

Lenovo Thinkpad X230 (sid): Intel Core i7 3520M Intel HD Graphics 4000

I also tested the build on my MacBookAir 4,2 running Ubuntu 13 64bits.

You seem to have some problems with initializing the sound system, maybe that stops the video rendering? Which graphics driver do you use?
