media keys not working
Adding this include statement allows the media keys to work:
include "inet(evdev)"
@fabi1cazenave maybe you can add it at line 75 on your file http://qwerty-lafayette.org/releases/lafayette_linux_v0.5.xkb please ;-) ?
Thanks in advance !
Thanks for the tip it fixes my volume keys not working :+1:
@fabi1cazenave so this solution is it the right solution? Maybe it could be pushed in kalamine?
@alexherbo2: #55 is the same as this issue?
Yes, if that works it should be pushed to Kalamine.
However, I’d be curious to know wether the XKB installer doesn’t solve this issue already?
XKB’s behavior is very different when using xkbcomp
instead of setxkbmap
, and I’m afraid this is getting worse and worse — so using an XKB installer might be the silver bullet here.
Not sure if the root cause was the same for me but the new XKB installer fixed the issue for me.
Thanks for the feedback!
okay my bad, for some reason play/pause/next/previous/stop media keys still do not work, fixed volume and brightness keys though
Here’s a test that could help if you have the time:
- make sure the Lafayette layout is the first one in your keyboard manager
- add the standard us-qwerty
- add the German Neo (which is technically close to the Lafayette)
I assume you rely on Gnome-shell to switch the keyboard layout (Super+Space). Do the media keys work in US-qwerty? In Neo? And do they stop working when switching to Lafayette?
I have some issues with Ubuntu 16.04 as well, but I don’t think it’s related to Lafayette (same behavior with standard qwerty). Might be a Gnome issue.
