Document and test new database extraction

#125 adding a good deal of new code that needs documentation, including file formats. There is also very little testing of the new code.

No new documentation has been written since this bug was filled

@litghost it's hard to grasp what is expected to be done for this issue. Can we maybe add a check list of things to do? Or create separate issues?

I think this issue is really highlights how little testing and documentation exists on some of the larger fuzzers. Smaller issues could help here.
