Make ringer, etc use media volume when headset connected

I just got a phone call while my headset was plugged in on my Dream. In-call, everything was fine, but the ringtone, pardon my french, fucking HURT it was so loud. My media volume, however, was nowhere near that loud. CyanogenMod has this feature, so I'm gonna request it here.

Please implement a way to make in-call, ringtone, notification, etc volume equal to media volume while a headset is connected.

ezTerry, I love your work, and I thank both you and Firerat a great deal for breathing new life into old devices, but this is a dealbreaker for me. I'm going back to CyanogenMod until this is implemented (should you choose to implement it). I am not trying to pressure you, I understand your goals with this ROM, I'm just informing you.

Should you need someone to test this, though, I'm there. :D

Um .. I'm not quite sure what you want.. and even if what you want is a good idea... Settings -> Sound .. if you are not in silence mode you can tap Volume and get the levels for Ringtone, Media, Alarm

If there is a patch around for Ringtone to have 2 states (one with headset, one without) point me at it I'll take a look.. but I don't like the idea of linking it to media.. even if only when the headset is plugged in.

Sorry for the late reply. CyanogenMod 7 has the feature for sure. If you set it to, while the headset is plugged in, the ringer volume will be set to media volume or alarm volume (user choice). The setting was in cmsettings.apk, not in the normal android settings.apk.

I'm pretty sure CM 6.1 had it, at least Firerat's magpie build of it, but I don't remember for sure.

I am aware that I can adjust the volume each time I connect and disconnect, but I never remember to do so. Then the phone rings, and obscenities come out of my mouth if I'm using the G1 headset. >_>

I've found that ezGingerbread works much better than CM7 on my phone, with regard to just about everything, now that I've been using Firerat's Magpie port of it for a while... except this one feature. I understand if you don't want to implement it. I'll live with it, regardless of what I said above. Usable, reliable phone > phone doubling as music player.

I hope this clears up what I want with this feature.
