I'm testing Social Hub for a month now and while not yet "here", it's a really strong app I'd love to use as my main SNS app.

The killer feature is being able to group timeline from any account into either a big unified timeline or as your liking (I made a group with only my twitter accounts feeds and one with my main twitter and my main mastodon, for example). Mentions and Notifications are also unified. That said, you have to sign in to your account for each group you want it to be in. Don't know why, but it's may be because it was easier for the developer to do that way. Cross-post is supported flawlessly and I would love to have the same treatment for retweet and boost, like, a boost is send as a tweet, or a retweet became a toot. The interface is sleek but there are some flaws :

  • picture are height-cropped and the setting to display larger image doesn't seem to work (and is quite hidden because it's account based).
  • the app work with a tab concept but an account being in a group by default, managing a tab for an account (like a tab for mentions, a tab for one of your list, etc) is to set up in the account's manage tabs setting located in ... the group's account management settings instead of directly in a menu when you tqp this account. There you just have the choice to Add a Tab (which is in fact, the active tab you're on) either to the account or to the group. It's not really straightforward and quite confusing.
  • The List menu of a group will display a tab for each Account's List section. It means that if you have three twitter accounts in your group, the tab head title will be Owned Lists, Owned Lists and Owned Lists (twitter nomenclatura) without any hint to which account this Lists section is from (like having the accounts avatar next to the head title). When grouping with a Mastodon account, the same occurs, but Mastodon use the word List so you can tell it's the mastodon account's List section of course, the issue remains if you have several mastodon account in your group). It's also in this menu, you can send one of your list as a group's tab or an account's tab and it's weird regarding the latter issue because sending a list to as a group tab will, this time, display the account it's from just under its tab head title.
  • no Unread counter yet and the app won't keep the timeline position when you launch it (it auto-refresh), but it will when you refresh manually after (no auto jump-to-top)

Interfacing with the app is "aerial". It's feels like if you tap/swipe to fast it will breaks (it will not). There isn't the "physicality" you can find in Toot! Or Tusker yet, but it's really pleasing to interact with it. There's a lot of fading and smooth sliding.

I think the app use a mix of twitter's API and of a web wrapper for the twitter website because I got some Too Much Request error. No problem with Mastodon.

So overall, it needs some work around the user experience itself, but it's already a solid app with a developper who seems to have a strong vision in mind. Can't wait for futur update.

Oh, I didn't test the app with Tumblr, Slack and Misskey. I'll post another comment when I did.
