Description of the problem

Using Brave browser. But since Brave is basically Chrome I assume it happens in both.

Problems with two different websites. When creating an Amazon review at www.amazon.com/review/create-review/xxxxx, and kick.com.

On Amazon, when I attach a picture for a review, the entire page freezes and forces me to kill it. Waiting just loops the freeze and I have to kill it. I verified Hoverzoom+ is the issue by disabling it and trying again and it worked fine, no freezes. I did this a couple of times with the extension on/off.

For kick.com, I couldn't ever log in and stay logged in. If I logged in, it would show successful but then I wouldn't be logged in. Couldn't chat or do anything and if I refreshed the page it would have me login again. I verified Hoverzoom+ was the issue and once I blocked kick.com in the extension settings, I haven't had any issues.

For Amazon.com, the exact URL differs depending on the product you are reviewing and how you access it. But it does not matter the exact product. Steps to reproduce the problem (include image url here)

Amazon.com

  1. Go to returns & orders
  2. Click "Write a product review" on any product. If you need a specific example I used https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B099WVTP7X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  3. Click on the giant + button under "Add a photo or video" and attach any picture. Wait a few seconds and it will freeze and the browser will pop up a window that the page has become unresponsive and give you the option to Wait (which will just loop to the freeze again) or exit the page/kill it. Kick.com

  1. Navigate to kick.com and login.
  2. Might stay logged in for a few min and be able to chat, but then you get logged out and can't chat. Logged in, can chat screen: https://imgur.com/jxJoiUp after a couple min I refresh the page and I'm logged out and can't chat: https://imgur.com/0AAJTn1

Again, verified HZ+ was the issue for both of these as if I disable the plugin or block the sites in the HZ+ sites settings, these issues don't happen any longer.

OS version, extension version

Windows 10 Pro, Version 22H2, Hoverzoom version 1.0.210

@GrosPoulet I see a lot of CORS errors in the dev console logs on kick.com screenshots - can hoverzoom's kick.com plugin interfere with the normal site API calls somehow?

@extesy As usual, i can not reproduce this issue in my environment. Did you manage to do so in yours ?

BTW, there are (at least) 2 Chrome extensions still active in @Daveholmes05 browser:

@Daveholmes05 Could you please desactivate these 2 extensions and try again ?

I also have Honey extension but not Eno, and on Chrome I don't see CORS errors while logged in to kick.com. @Daveholmes05 please try to isolate which specific extension is causing the issue.

By the way, I was able to reproduce page freezing on amazon review page. And it freezes so hard that even dev tools don't work and I can't collect the performance profile to see what's causing this 😕

HZ+ Enabled on Kick.com. Disabled Honey, logged in to kick. Got a 404 not found kick splash page then refreshed and got a basic white page 400 Bad Request. Cleared cache/cookies for Kick.com and it worked again. Repeated this a few times.

Then I enabled Honey, and disabled Eno. Same problems.

HZ+ Enabled. Eno AND Honey disabled. Logged in to kick.com. Stayed on for a few min. Refreshed and was logged out. Refreshed again and immediate 400 Bad Request.

Enabled Honey and Eno. Disabled HZ+ extension. Cleared kick cache/cookies. Logged back into Kick. Logged in for 10+ min (went and did a couple things around the house) and never got kicked out, no 404, no 400.

Disabled Eno and Honey again. Enabled HZ+. Let the page sit for a few min and monitored the Console. Had one error pop up: Uncaught (in promise) Error: A listener indicated an asynchronous response by returning true, but the message channel closed before a response was received.

I refreshed the page after a few min and was still logged in but had a huge list of errors pop up in the console this time; screen1 https://imgur.com/aaIqIfA screen2 https://imgur.com/gQs3ZtZ screen3 https://imgur.com/jYbPzqH

I also downloaded a HAR file from the Network tab of my browser during this time. I then refreshed and was logged out. I let the page settle and collected another HAR after the refresh in case these helps. HAR Files.zip
