Unable to scroll through GIF progression for GIFs hosted on i.redd.it

Describe the bug I cannot scroll through a GIF's progression using the scroll wheel or arrow keys for GIFs hosted on reddit via i.redd.it.

Instead of scrolling through the GIF's content, it simply scrolls down the page.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Visit reddit post containing GIF hosted on i.redd.it (example link)
2. Hover over post
3. Attempt to scroll through the GIF with the arrow keys or scroll wheel

Expected behavior Progress through the GIF at the specified interval (2 seconds in my case)

@RumplesWrinkles one workaround consists in locking GIF first (press L key while hovering). Then you can use arrows keys to scroll through GIF content.

I tired this, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I installed Hoverzoom into a clean portable version of Firefox and then went to the Old Reddit version of /r/gifs but after locking with L, pressing the arrow keys doesn't do anything for any actual GIF file, only for videos. I looked through the settings, but didn't see anything to enable it, but if I'm missing something obviously please let me know. Thanks!
